Cyprus International University has made a significant expansion into Uganda, introducing a wide range of academic programs, including undergraduate, postgraduate, Masters, and PhD courses.
During the inauguration ceremony, Prof Majid Hashemipour, the senior advisor to the board of trustees of Cyprus International University, emphasized that 40% of their current student population hails from Africa. This played a pivotal role in motivating the university to extend its educational services to Uganda, aiming to bring quality education closer to the African continent.
Recognizing the paramount importance of education in shaping a nation’s future economy, Prof Hashemipour expressed the university’s commitment to making a positive impact on Uganda’s employment landscape. They firmly believe that by providing high-quality education and practical learning opportunities, they can contribute to alleviating the burden of unemployment in the country.
Furthermore, Cyprus International University has taken a progressive step by offering scholarships, some of which can cover up to 50% or more of the tuition fees, with a particular emphasis on supporting women’s education and empowerment. This initiative reflects the university’s dedication to promoting equal opportunities and diversity in education.
With its expansion into Uganda, Cyprus International University is poised to create a positive and lasting impact on the nation’s educational landscape, fostering growth, innovation, and a brighter future for its students and the country as a whole.
